Aron Ferrer
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Aron has resided in the Tampa Bay area since 2001. His passion for a variety of musical genres provide his audience with an enjoyable flavor of latin grooves and jazz piano sounds which are deeply rooted in salsa, R&B and gospel. This blend of Afro-Carribean influenced sound and East Coast urban music is the essence of who he is and resonates in his music and sound.
Randy Bordon
Randy Bordon is a Cuban bass-player living in Tampa, Florida. He started his career at the age of 18 at the Conservatory Amadeo Roldan in Havana, Cuba studying classical upright bass and serving as first bass for two years. In addition, he toured with several professional bands while attending school. After graduating from the Conservatory he got accepted at the University of Arts in Havana, Cuba. Here in Florida he has played with several acts including Gilberto “Niño” Garcia and the Latin Jazz Knights, Dimas Sanches and the late Chris Clarke and most recently Chuchito Valdés. He is soon to graduate from St. Petersburg College with a degree in Music Industry Recording Arts. His work has also been included in their music catalog. Currently he is a full time musician and producer.
Ross Strauser
Ross Strauser is a professional saxophonist, bandleader, teacher and composer/arranger from Whitefish, Montana. He is a graduate of University of Montana and University of South Florida in Tampa where he currently resides and teaches in the music department at USF. He has also written and arranged music for many high school and college bands as well as several pop, jazz, and contemporary artists. In May of 2022, he presented an original composition at the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers Symposium in Austin, Texas.
Kevin Celebi
Kevin Çelebi is a jazz trumpet player and flugelhornist from Detroit, Michigan with a master’s in music from Indiana University. He is dubbed the “trumpet mercenary” for his tendency to play in different styles and genres of music, from from reggae and ska bands to orchestras and big bands, but he feels that jazz brings out his best. He is currently a freelance musician and serves as first trumpet for Gilberto "Niño" Garcia and the Latin Lazz Knights.
Alex Ocun
Alex Jose Ocón Medina was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The son of a voice teacher, he studied music from an early age. It wasn’t until he was 12, however, that he found his real passion: percussion. After six years of studying in Latin America, Ocón decided to pursue studies in the United States at The University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's in classical and world percussion. He is currently attending the University of South Florida, studying for a Master in Jazz studies with an emphasis on Drum set performance.
Dimitri Brunnell
Having been a student of jazz and classical music for a decade, Dimitri has a wide range of musical fascinations within jazz ranging from bebop to avant-garde. Pushing the boundaries of any musical situation is what he strives for. Playing, learning, and growing with the Latin Jazz Knights provides him a constant flow of inspiration and adoration for music, and he believes that this feeling can be shared across any audience who hears us.
