Aron Ferrer
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Aron has resided in the Tampa Bay area since 2001. His passion for a variety of musical genres provide his audience with an enjoyable flavor of latin grooves and jazz piano sounds which are deeply rooted in salsa, R&B and gospel. This blend of Afro-Carribean influenced sound and East Coast urban music is the essence of who he is and resonates in his music and sound.
Dario Mercedes
Dario Mercedes is an accomplished bassist and multi-instrumentalist who has been playing upright and electric bass since 1969. In addition to bass, his musical talents include percussion, guitar, and piano.
From 1970 to 2015, while based in New York City, Dario performed with a variety of local merengue, salsa, and bachata bands, building a wealth of experience in the vibrant Latin music scene. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with some of the most celebrated names in Latin music, including Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco, Larry Harlow, Celia Cruz, Charlie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, and El Gran Combo, among many others.
In March 2018, Dario joined The Latin Jazz Knights, continuing his musical journey and bringing decades of experience and a deep-rooted passion for Latin music to the band.
Dimitri Brunnell
Having been a student of jazz and classical music for a decade, Dimitri has a wide range of musical fascinations within jazz ranging from bebop to avant-garde. Pushing the boundaries of any musical situation is what he strives for. Playing, learning, and growing with the Latin Jazz Knights provides him a constant flow of inspiration and adoration for music, and he believes that this feeling can be shared across any audience who hears us.
Miguel Azcuy
Based in Tampa, Florida, Miguel Azcuy is an accomplished drummer and percussionist with an extensive performance background spanning jazz, Latin music, and a variety of other genres. He served as principal drummer for the FGCU Jazz Ensemble under Professor Brandon Robertson, an Emmy-nominated former bassist for the Count Basie Orchestra, and was featured on WGCU 90.1 FM and Fox 4 TV.+
Miguel’s performance credits include Tito Puente Jr., Néstor Torres, Alfredo Chacón, and the Gulf Coast Symphony, among many other distinguished artists and ensembles. He has also opened for notable performers across jazz, blues, and Latin music, including Frankie Negron, Charlie Cruz, Kenny Neal, Matt Schofield, and Nathan Mitchell.
Ernesto Hernandez Vinas
Ernesto Hernandez Vinas is a Cuban trumpeter and graduate of the music conservatory in Camagüey, Cuba. With years of experience performing in diverse musical groups, he brings a versatile background spanning symphonic music, jazz, salsa, and traditional Cuban styles, including son and timba. Ernesto has participated in and earned awards at prestigious Cuban festivals and competitions, including La Banda Gigante and JoJazz, and has contributed his talent to studio recordings for Cuban artists.
Joe Offner
"While attending the University of South Florida, Joseph had the opportunity to go on two European tours with the jazz department. Since joining the freelance musician scene, he has had the good fortune to perform with many incredible musicians, including Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Wayne Newton, and Wycliffe Gordon. His main avenue for musical expression is with the Venice Symphony Orchestra, but he relishes any opportunity to expand his musical horizons, and the Latin Jazz Knights have been just such a chance to grow and learn."
Johnny Sierra
Originally from Carolina, Puerto Rico, Johnny Sierra is a master percussionist based in the Tampa Bay area. He performs with Orquesta Infinidad, bringing his rich Latin musical roots and rhythmic expertise to the stage. Since 2023, Johnny has been a valued member of The Latin Jazz Knights, contributing his talent and passion for Latin jazz to the ensemble.
Maggie Lee
Tampa Bay native Maggie Lee has been immersed in music her entire life, bringing her dynamic voice to local stages since 2021. Whether performing at restaurants or private events, she captivates audiences with her passion and talent. Currently, Maggie is refining her artistry as a Vocal Performance major at Hillsborough Community College, where she is shaping the next chapter of her music journey.
